The film

Why this story, why now

When Judge Dredd reached cinemas in 1995, Mega City One felt like a real place, and its vehicles were a big part of that. The film's crew turned ordinary Land Rovers into the cabs that filled the streets of Sylvester Stallone's city of the future.

Mega City One Cab Project follows the restoration of one of those original cabs. Alongside the work, we sit down with the people who designed and built the vehicles to hear, first-hand, how they made them.

We're recording interviews and filming segments now. Your support pays for the restoration footage, the crew interviews and the finished edit, ready for release on DVD.

Calling all Judge Dredd fans

We're making more than a restoration film. Alongside the cab, we're telling the story of the crew who built the vehicles in 1995 and the fans who've kept Mega City One alive ever since. For our "In the life of a Judge Dredd fan" segment, we want to film and interview you.

Backer FAQ

Before you pledge

Is this an investment?

No. A pledge on this page supports the film in return for the perks and credits listed. It doesn't give you a share of the film or its profits. If you're interested in investing for a return, talk to us directly.

What does an Executive Producer credit mean?

Your name appears with the Executive Producer credit in the film's end credits, and you get the access listed in that tier. We also submit backer credits to IMDb, which decides what it lists.

What happens if the target isn't reached?

Every pledge goes straight into making the film, whether or not we hit the target. If we fall short, we'll carry on with the funds raised and look for other ways to close the gap. Backing an independent film carries risk, so we can't guarantee when it will be finished, or that it will be finished at all. Pledges aren't refundable if the target isn't met. This doesn't affect your statutory rights.

When do I get my perks?

Updates start straight away. Credits, downloads, DVDs and posters arrive when the film is finished, which we expect in 2027.

Can I get a refund?

You can cancel a perk within 14 days of ordering for a full refund. See our Refunds and cancellations page for the details.
