Placing an order

Your order is an offer to buy. We accept it when we send the order confirmation email, and that is when the contract between us starts. If we can’t accept your order, for example because a limited perk has sold out, we’ll tell you and refund anything you’ve paid.

Prices and payment

Prices are in pounds sterling (£) and include everything you pay apart from any delivery charge, which is shown at checkout before you pay. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.

If we’ve made an obvious mistake in a price, we’ll contact you before sending anything and you can choose to pay the right price or cancel for a full refund.

Backing a film: donations and perks

Our Back the film products help pay for a film we are making. There are two kinds:

  • Donations are gifts towards the film. You don’t get anything in return beyond our thanks.
  • Perks (such as supporter, credit, associate producer and executive producer tiers) give you the rewards listed on each product, like your name in the credits, a DVD or an invitation to a screening.

Backing a film is not an investment. You don’t get shares, a stake in the film, a share of its profits or any say over how it is made, and you won’t get your money back if the film makes a profit or a loss. Producer credits are thank-you credits and don’t give you any rights in the film.

Perks are delivered as the film progresses and on release. Dates on the site are our best estimate. Filming and editing can take longer than planned and we’ll keep backers updated by email if a date moves.

We’ll show your name in the credits the way you give it to us. We may refuse or ask you to change a name that is offensive, misleading or uses someone else’s trademark.

Backing an independent film carries risk. We can’t guarantee when a film will be finished, or that it will be finished at all. If we don’t reach a funding target we’ll carry on with the funds raised, and if we have to stop making a film we’ll tell backers by email. Pledges, perks and donations aren’t refunded in either case. This doesn’t affect your right to cancel within 14 days or your other statutory rights.

Cancelling and refunds

You have legal rights to cancel most orders within 14 days and to a refund for faulty goods. Our Refunds and cancellations page explains how this works.

Delivery

See our Delivery page for where we deliver, how long it takes and what it costs.

DVDs and copyright

DVDs are for private home viewing only. Copying, public screening, broadcast or hire need our written permission.

Our responsibility to you

If we break these terms we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of that. We are not responsible for loss that wasn’t foreseeable, or for business losses. Nothing in these terms limits our liability where the law says it can’t be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer.

Your personal information

We use your details to process your order and keep you updated about it. Our Privacy policy explains what we collect and your rights.

Problems and complaints

If something goes wrong, email us first and we’ll do our best to put it right.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or in Scotland or Northern Ireland if you live there.
